As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Autobooks, you will apply your critical thinking and bug catching savvy towards improving the customer experience for our users. This position will be responsible for quality assurance activities that include understanding business requirements, creating and reviewing test documentation, executing test scripts, tracking defects, and monitoring testing activity. The Quality Assurance Engineer will be very hands on & will serve as a subject matter expert on the development of testing approaches, methodologies, requirements, and the creation of performance and regression testing scenarios, frameworks and scripts using automated processes.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement solutions based on system understanding and analysis of technology and system specifications

• Help facilitate efforts on developing test strategy, test estimation and planning

• Creating test cases and test plans for new feature work as well as ongoing enhancements and bug fixes

• Estimate testing effort for upcoming sprint work items

• Responsible for identification, documentation and execution of all testing scenarios

• Keep cards updated in ticket management system and communicate the state of fixes to the group

• Eager to work with developers during the development process to answer requirement questions and resolve issues before they arise

• Using SQL querying to identify and assist in resolution of issues. Using SQL to set up test scenarios

• Assists with go / no-go release decisions

• Consistent regression testing requires attention to detail

• Provide specialized expertise in test automation using commercially available functional test tools, such as, Selenium Webdriver and Cucumber

Experience and Skills:

• 3-5 years of consumer software product quality assurance experience including test planning, implementation and execution

• Advanced working knowledge of QA processes and methodologies; expertise in test planning, test case management, code coverage and defect analysis

• Excellent planning skills to plan and execute QA activities on multiple concurrent release releases

• Significant hands-on experience in Agile product development life cycles.

• Planning, designing, implementation and use of automated test suites including open source and commercial tools

• Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring skills combined with flexibility working in a collaborative but decisive personal style; highly effective communicator and problem solver.
