We are looking for a Director of Research to join as a key member of our team to support our Clinical and Grants Teams.

Core Responsibilties

  • Work across teams and projects to design and implement qualitative and quantitative research to advance Workit’s programs
  • Vet, conceptualize, and write research grants that require human subjects research and clinical trials; take the lead on implementation of awarded research grants
  • Lead writing efforts in collaboration with our Chief Medical Officer and cross-functional teams to translate research findings into blog posts, white papers, and peer-reviewed journal articles
  • Work closely with leadership, including the VP of Clinical Informatics, to translate research and data into policy and practice that benefits both patients and employees (MDs, nurse practitioners, social workers, and support staff)
  • Work with the training team to integrate research findings into curricula and training for clinicians, customers, patients, and internal employees
  • Lead the development of a knowledgement management system for the collection and synthesis of internal and external literature and data to inform grant writing and ongoing scholarly publishing; evaluate and implement new technologies, processes and tools to support the research function

Professional Qualifications

  • Proven track record in the digital health and technology industry.
  • Specific telehealth start-up experience is preferred
  • Strong familiarity with HHS policies for the protection of human research subjects 
  • Experience with or deep understanding of research involving clinical trials
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to craft grant proposal narratives, journal articles, and more lay pieces (from blog posts to white papers)
  • Experience developing outcome metrics and methods for health interventions, including technology-based interventions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to shift between a focus on detail (e.g., data analysis), and higher-level strategic planning (e.g., translating findings into policy and practice)
  • High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information
  • A deep passion for improving health outcomes
  • Strong team player who can make decisions and excels in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively
  • PhD and MPH preferred
