Columbus is a hotbed for fast-growing startups and tech companies. We featured a few of them on our list of the top startups in the Midwest, but there are lots of companies in Columbus that are growing, hiring, and still getting funded. Back in March, Olive raised $51 million, and Finite State just announced they raised $12.5 million. 

It’s no secret that we love Detroit over here at purpose.jobs. We’re Detroiters and take a lot of pride in the city we call home. It’s a great place to live and work, and Glassdoor seems to think so, too. They named Detroit the 10th best city for jobs based on hiring opportunity, cost of living and job satisfaction. I’m not surprised that Detroit came in the top 10. 

Want to know where the money's at? It's right here in the midwest. More specifically, the Great Lakes region. Venture capitalists are looking outside Silicon Valley and New York to diversify across new hubs.
